As a West Springfield resident for the past forty years and small business owner for twenty of those years, I have enjoyed raising my family and watching my children graduate from the same school system from which I graduated in 1980. I have been a participant in both the civic & business community for numerous years, serving as a License Commission member from 2006 to 2009 and as a Past Rotary Club President and member for the past 20 years.
Now as I watch my grandson grow, I want to do my part to ensure that West Springfield remains a vibrant & livable community.
With the encouragement and support of family, friends and neighbors, I have decided to run for District 3’s Representative on the City Council.
I bring the initiative and experience of having started and managed five businesses in the local community. I understand what it takes to balance a budget, make tough decisions and get things done.
Over the years, I have seen a considerable amount of changes to our community, one of the most troubling of which is our city’s budget. Since 2000, it has swelled from 55 million dollars to 85 million dollars. That is over a 50% increase! Even in these tough economic times when store fronts are closing and families are struggling to make ends meet, the budget continues to grow.
I want to work for you to bring about “Common Sense Government” by pursuing Financial Accountability, Stabilization of Infrastructure and Viable Economic Development.
Let me know what your concerns are. Let’s work together to make West Springfield a better place for all of us! Don’t forget to make a donation and sign up to volunteer. Give me a call or send me an email, and I will get back to you soon!
